On the Offa Robbery

Offa People Should Blame The Olofa of Offa

If justice is not done on the gruesome killings of 33 innocent residents of Offa by Saraki's thugs, no one should blame President Buhari or the Inspector General of Police. The Olofa of Offa should be held responsible. He is to blame.

After those Saraki's boys perpetrated the criminal acts, what a responsible monarch should do is to speak up and demand justice on behalf of his people. Unfortunately, the case is the reverse for the Olofa: instead of demanding justice for the people he swore to defend at all time, he was busy defending and making case for the sponsor (Saraki) of those murderers.

Or how do we describe the case of a so-called monarch who has turned himself to the lackey of a murderous political elite in Kwara State! This is shameful, and an utter desecration of the revered stool of the Olofa. Offa people are known to be warriors. They are brave and fearless. They speak the hard truth; regardless of whose ox is gored. As we know from time immemorial, the Olofa symbolizes this ancient description of the Offa people. Olofas are the fountain-head of this glorious description of the Offas.

What, exactly, is the fear of the Olofa; that he has made himself the mouthpiece of the Ilorin criminal syndicate? When you hobnob with murderers, you are also a murderer. When you wine and dine with criminals, you are a criminal. When you support or defend sponsors of armed robbers, I wonder what you are?
