The Sokoto State Government says it plans to establish three micro finance banks as well as a small and medium enterprises development agency to promote entrepreneurship among the people of the state. Speaking when he received members of the Small and Medium Scale Rice Millers Association in Sokoto Tuesday , Governor Aminu Tambuwal said the Sokoto State Small and Medium Enterprises Development Agency Bill had been presented to the state House of Assembly for passage into law. A statement by the Governor’s Chief Press Secretary, Imam Imam, on Tuesday, stated that Tambuwal gave the names of the proposed three micro finance banks as Giginya, Fodiyo and Gudale. The Imo State House of Assembly has impeached the Deputy Governor, Prince Eze Madumere. He was impeached on today Monday, 30th July 2018 by 19 out of the 27 member-assembly. The Speaker of the House, Acho Ihim, said the impeachment followed the outcome of a report of a 7-man panel which was constituted by the Chief Judge of the state to investigate allegations of gross misconduct and abandonment of office by the Deputy Governor.
