Biased Amnesty International

In the last 24hours, Amnesty Nigeria International has tweeted 15 times amongst others Yeye Twitter and Facebook Bandits on #LekkiTollGateProtest. Strangely, there's no single tweet on the killings of Northerner in Ibadan. Nothing explains this Media blackout than deep-seated hatred of the other.  This is shameful and disgraceful.

Ibadan Crises

Is there no state government in place? When we talk of Ruga or Ranching, people will say state governors are in charge because the FG does not have any land anywhere, but when it comes to conflict within the states, we'll be calling the FG out as if the states can not solve their security issues.  Did Ambode cry foul before dealing with the Badoo guys of Ikorodu? Did Ajimobi blame Buhari before he brought the security challenges of  Oyo state under control? All he did was to support the police with the necessary equipment and funds. The rest was history.  Let's call a spade a spade! ~Yinka Alada

Press Statement On Sasha Violence

We Reject the Wanton Destruction of Lives, Property in Sasha Gov. Aminu Waziri Tambuwal (CFR, Mutawallen Sokoto) Governor of Sokoto Since Saturday morning when some groups of individuals halted traffic and movement of people across the various highways, asking passengers to identify their ethnic groups, I have been in constant touch with my Oyo State counterpart, Gov. Seyi Makinde on how best to halt the violence. As a nation, we must find a quick solution to this wanton killing of one another amidst the ongoing National Challenge of insecurity. Also, distraught f...

SHASHA REPRESENTS UNITY, RECENT MAYHEM UNFORTUNATE — OSINBAJO

 * VP Says: We must deal with criminals according to law & not an ethnic conflict  * Urges for peace between Northern traders and Southwest people  (Below are comments by the Vice President today in Lagos when reporters asked him about the situation in Ibadan. He had just paid a condolence visit to the Jakande family in Ilupeju.)  I have heard about the unfortunate mayhem and the tragic loss of lives at the Shasha market in the past few days.  Shasha market has been a melting pot for traders bringing foodstuff from the North to the Southwest for decades.  For decades traders from the North have done business with their brothers from the Southwest and they have lived in peace and even inter-married. Shasha is a place of unity.  So when a disagreement arises between individuals or a criminal act is committed by one against the other we must ensure that we see it for what it is,  a criminal act, which must be punished according to law. Not an eth...
